You Promised

Published April 21, 2015 by lynn k scott

You promised you’d love me “til death do us part”.

You promised to protect and care for me in “sickness and in health”.

You broke your promise.

You hurt me.

You beat me.

You insulted me.

You made me ashamed.

You crushed my will and my spirit.

I summoned strength.

I sought my inner-courage.

I rose from your feet where you’d beaten me down.

I left you.

Your heart turned black.

You only know how to attack.

You lie.

You steal.

You no longer can feel.

I still suffer.

Not at your hand, but in my heart.

You’ve taken all I had.

Yet, you still want more.

You don’t care and you can’t see it,

But you’ve finally broke me,

As I fell to my knees and sobbed on the floor.

This could almost be written about me. With the exception that I rose, stronger than ever. He never thought I would leave him, much less go through with the divorce BUT I DID! I needed to find me, save me, before it was too late. I’n building MY new life where I make the decisions!!! You can do it too. BELIEVE IN YOU!!!! ❤

    • I have come a long way, believe me. Yesterday was brutal. This was the product of my horrid morning. Thanks for reblogging. This is my ex – husband. Sadly, I am still bound to him for a year or so more.
