A New Word; Not A Resolution

Published December 31, 2015 by lynn k scott

A few years ago, a friend introduced me to her way to acknowledge the upcoming year.  She didn’t make resolutions, but instead, chose to select a word to represent her in the new year.

As I had given up making New Year’s Resolutions, I thought this was a fabulous idea.  My first year participating in this was 2014 and I had chosen, ‘Perseverance’ as my word.  It was very applicable at the time.  My word for 2015 was ‘Genesis’.  The word turned out to be very appropriate with all the new beginnings and changes that took place this year.

As 2016 is about to roll in, I have to select a new word.  The word I choose to represent me is, ‘Understanding’.  My world has been a runaway train over the last few years.  I’m finally gaining some perspective, made some necessary decisions, and in 2016, I’m hoping to continue my personal growth and find more understanding in my life and with those around me.

Would you like to join me in selecting a word for the New Year?  If so, what word do you choose?
