About the Pink Herald

What’s in a name?  It’s a worthwhile question.  For example, the name of this blog is the “Pink Herald”.  It was a fairly easy name to come up with. After all, this blog was inspired by my sister, who passed away from breast cancer, several years before she would ever have seen the tender age of 40.

Yes, she was a mother, to three wonderful girls.  Yes she was a daughter, survived by her mother, as her father lost his own cancer battle years prior.  Yes, she was a sister, the middle sister, to be exact.  Her breast cancer didn’t care about those facts. It didn’t care we’d have less than a year with her once she was diagnosed.

This blog in dedicated to her memory.  She always had something say.  She didn’t mince words (and neither do I).  You knew where you stood with her.  Honesty and integrity are two words that sum up my sister.  I hope this blog does her memory justice.

“Over You” by Miranda Lambert became her song the day my sister passed.  A song of two siblings; one alive and one who’s passed.  Still chokes me up, almost 3 years later.

Over You

Disclosure:  I have no claim on this song or video and I’m not affiliated with it any way.  I am simply sharing a memory.

  • Hi Lynn, I also saw you on Harsh Reality and saw that you are from NorCal. I’m in Sacramento! My sympathies on the loss of your sister. 40 is young. My ex’s second wife died from breast cancer 10 years ago. So very devastating. I look forward to reading your blog 🙂

    • Thank you. I’m trying. I don’t blog nearly as much as I’d like, or probably should, but I do what I can. I know my sister inspires me and many of the posts, whether I give her credit or not, have been influenced by her.

  • An awesome tribute to you sister. ♥♥♥♥♥♥
Thank you for dropping by my blog and I truly hope we can become blogging friends. My Mom and Dad post passed many years ago also through cancer. My sister has had 2 rounds of cancer, and my one brother also a cancer victim. I know the feeling but we must go forward, although they will ALWAYS be with us, now and forever more.
