Mystery Blogger Award Nomination

Published June 8, 2018 by lynn k scott

I was just nominated by momlifewithchiari for the Mystery Blogger Award. I haven’t been nominated for much since I first started blogging. It’s nice to know others are actually reading and enjoying my blog. I mostly blog as cheap therapy and moreso now that I got rid of Facebook. So, naturally, I’ll play along.

These were the questions posed to me…so here go the answers:

1. If you could cure one disease, what would it be and why?

For me, the answer is simple: Cancer. I don’t care what form of cancer; it all needs curing. I lost my father and sister to cancer. My mom survived hers. My youngest sister and I are now battling our own cancers. Enough is enough!

2. If you could speak any other language what would it be and why?

Learning languages is actually a hobby of mine. While I’m not fluent in any, I LOVE American Sign Language (ASL). Every time I see someone signing I am slightly mesmerized. I love the way the hands move gracefully and are able to communicate.

3. If you could do your life over, what is the one thing you would change?

After experiencing so much loss, I would make time for those I care about. Let them know how much they mean to me. Anger robs of us time we can never replace and sometimes it’s too late by the time we realize this.

4. What is one word you wished you heard more often and why?

Accountability. It may sound silly, but today’s society is so “me” centered, I want more people to own up to their short-comings and mistakes. Making others conform so people don’t feel upset is not how communication and progress grow. Being responsible and owning behavior (good or bad) is how we start to move forward.

My nominees are:

A Momma’s View
Dorky Mom Doodles
In Diane’s Kitchen
I’m going to keep the same questions for my nominees, as I think they pretty insightful. Have fun!

Meet and Greet Weekend @ DBDO: 2/12/16

Published February 12, 2016 by lynn k scott

In the blogging world, a “meet and greet” is the new version of “go on outside and play with your friends”.

Take a moment to meet some new people, read some new blogs and if you’re daring enough, leave a comment or two (or three)!

Dream Big, Dream Often

8

It’s the Meet and Greet weekend at Dream Big!!  There are a few simple rules that will help make this MnG the most incredible networking experience:

  1. Leave a link to your page or post in the comments of this post.
  2. Reblog this post.  It helps you, it helps me, it helps everyone!  So don’t be selfish, hit the reblog button.
  3. Edit your reblog post and add tags.
  4. Feel free to leave your link multiple times!  It is okay to update your link for more exposure every day if you want.  It is up to you!

  5. Share this post on social media.  Many of my non-blogger friends love that I put the Meet n Greet on Facebook and Twitter because they find new blogs to follow.

Now that all the rules have been clearly explained get out there and Meet n Greet your butts off!

See ya on Monday!!

I have had the fortunate pleasure to have had my blog shared on several great blogs.  I would like to pay it forward.  Ok, so I’m also being a bit lazy.

I would love to read some new blogs, but not wanting to go out and find them (being lazy).

A “Pink” Facelift

Published January 8, 2016 by lynn k scott

I’m done updating the “face” of the Pink Herald.  I went from a plain pink background, to a glittery pink background and then changed it up completely.

green trees

While I have edited the pics, these background and the header shots were actually taken by my sister at the Kaaterskill Falls.  She loved going there and these photos would be the last ones she’d ever take.  I am lucky to have access to them.

her mountain

She loved the falls, being in nature and all its simplistic beauty.  I thought my page could use a little of all that.  I think it ties her to the page just a bit more now.

For those of you who knew the “old” background, do you like the new one?

Yea or Nay?
