Mystery Blogger Award Nomination

Published June 8, 2018 by lynn k scott

I was just nominated by momlifewithchiari for the Mystery Blogger Award. I haven’t been nominated for much since I first started blogging. It’s nice to know others are actually reading and enjoying my blog. I mostly blog as cheap therapy and moreso now that I got rid of Facebook. So, naturally, I’ll play along.

These were the questions posed to me…so here go the answers:

1. If you could cure one disease, what would it be and why?

For me, the answer is simple: Cancer. I don’t care what form of cancer; it all needs curing. I lost my father and sister to cancer. My mom survived hers. My youngest sister and I are now battling our own cancers. Enough is enough!

2. If you could speak any other language what would it be and why?

Learning languages is actually a hobby of mine. While I’m not fluent in any, I LOVE American Sign Language (ASL). Every time I see someone signing I am slightly mesmerized. I love the way the hands move gracefully and are able to communicate.

3. If you could do your life over, what is the one thing you would change?

After experiencing so much loss, I would make time for those I care about. Let them know how much they mean to me. Anger robs of us time we can never replace and sometimes it’s too late by the time we realize this.

4. What is one word you wished you heard more often and why?

Accountability. It may sound silly, but today’s society is so “me” centered, I want more people to own up to their short-comings and mistakes. Making others conform so people don’t feel upset is not how communication and progress grow. Being responsible and owning behavior (good or bad) is how we start to move forward.

My nominees are:

A Momma’s View
Dorky Mom Doodles
In Diane’s Kitchen
I’m going to keep the same questions for my nominees, as I think they pretty insightful. Have fun!

A Word of Thanks

Published March 3, 2015 by lynn k scott

I have to take a moment and thank Jason from http://aopinionatedman.com/.  I found his blog about three months ago when I decided to give this whole blogging thing a go.  He quickly became one of my favorite blogs to follow.  He is very generous with his ability to assist other bloggers in sharing their work and he helps promote guest bloggers.

Today he ran a simple challenge:  share pics of where you live.   I stepped up to the plate.  Heck, it beat doing actual work at my job.  Never would I have imagined, that I would receive the most likes, views and follows, since I began my simple little blog to share my thoughts with whoever would “listen”.  Now, I’m just over 50 views and for me that’s quite an accomplishment.  Additionally, I have had some wonderful comment exchanges today because of the challenge I and others chose to participate in.  Lastly, I’ve found some really interesting blogs that have made me smile, drew some water from my eyes and provoked a few thoughts.

That being said, a humble thank you goes out to you; Opinionated Man!
